Song: Whistled plaintive "hey-swe-sweetie" song similar to Black-capped Chickadee’s but with 3-6 syllables. Song pattern varies with local dialects. Call is a "tchick-deeh-deeh" or a "chicka dzee dzee" descending in pitch on the "deeh/dzee" notes. Harsher, slower and more nasal than Black-capped Chickadee.
