Photo: Matt Tillett (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mattyfioner/4996456327/); USA; Adult;
Song: Song is similar to Blue-headed Vireo with pauses between the phrases but with a slightly raspy quality and a distinct rising then falling pattern to successive phrases. Song begins with a strident, burry "here-up", with inflection on "here", followed by more subdued "look-at-me" phrase. "Here-up" phrase distinguishable from a considerable distance. Alarm call is a descending and decelerating raspy "whe-tch-tch-tch-tch".
Sound: Macaulay Library (Macaulay Library, Cornell); Adult; Primary Sound;
