Hairy Woodpecker - Picoides villosus

Song: The call note is a sharp "peek", stronger and higher-pitched than Downy. There is also a high, sharp rattle remaining on one pitch (not descending as in the Downy). Drumming is very fast and even, but generally indistinguishable from a Downy's.
