Blue Jay - Cyanocitta cristata

Photo: Benoît Audet; 2007 Nov 10; Canada, Québec; Marais du Nord; Adult;
Song: Very vocal, with a wide repertoire. Most commonly, a piercing, nasal scream "jay-jay", a mellow, whistled "toodle-oodle", and very high-pitched squeaks like a squeaky pump-handle. Also mimics raptors, especially Red-shouldered Hawk.
Sound: Jean Dubois/Chris Daboll (Nature Sounds of Ontario); 1979 May 20; Canada, Ontario; Point Pelee; Adult; Primary Sound;
