Song: Typically high thin peeping "cheet" or "cheep" longer and less distinctive than White-rumped Sandpiper calls. When alarmed gives a irritated "twee twee twee twee" that rises in pitch. Display song is a thin and high pitched similar to Semipalmated Sandpiper's song but shorter and less complex
